Falcon mouse movement

Postby jali_h » Fri May 26, 2006 8:19 pm

Hello,

My falcon's mouse movement has become unresponsive. There is small lag before the mouse pointer follows the mouse movement. I am not using any mouse acceleration program and a couple of days ago it worked just fine.

Any idea about what is causing this strange mouse behaviour is appreciated.

edit:

mouse is new and clean. I also tried with another mouse.

Hello

The first thing would be to clean your mouse and to check that the cable is not distorted.

Maybe something is wrong with the mouse port or with the ikbd. Try checking it with another keyboard. An ste one would do.
Another idea is that it might be a software issue. If you have multitos (the original) installed than that will cause that. Try testing it with a completely clean boot.

sounds like the floppy drive is seeking ??
this can also cause mouse lag {its very common}
check the light is off for it before testing the mouse

Unfortunately I have no spare keyboard, so I cannot check if the keyboard is causing this behaviour.

Light of the floppy drive seems to work as it should be but I noticed that the light in the right side of a keyboard is blinking constantly. Blinking is hardly noticeable as the light is very dim. Is this normal behaviour?

Hello,

It does the same with all my Atari's.

In the beginning, I was thinking the diskdrive was broke, but all of them act like this, and work fine.

Mark.
