IDE Devices

Postby samf » Thu Mar 10, 2005 6:34 pm

Hi all!!!! :D

How many ide device can we put on our re-cased Falcons? 8O

So far as I can tell, we only have one ide channel to work with, which means, I think, that we can only use 2 ide devices. :(

Any way of doubling that? :?

Thanks!!!! :D

You can use at least 2 devices without problems, however I don't know if 4 IDE devices is possible without modifications...

Don't think about IDE. Use Scsi instead.
Each time you access an IDE drive it slows down system performance.
I get to feel this each time when surfing the web and simultaneously listening to mp3's...

Nice little gizmo. Excuse my ignorance but does the Falcon have an internal SCSI connector? I've only seen the external SCSI and the internal IDE. I'm probably just blind LOL

Incidentally does the Falcons IDE controller definitely support 2 drives (1 master and 1 slave presumably)?

Yes, I have 1 CD Burner and 1 HD, both are IDE devices and work fine.
