MiNT Network Drivers (SCSI/Link)

Postby Wiggs » Wed May 30, 2018 12:04 am

It's been a while since my Atari TT was last hooked up. I've got an Atari network adapter in the VME slot and this is all working great with MiNT, but I'm wanting to use my Nova graphics adapter in the VME slot instead.

I've also got a Mac SCSI to Ethernet adapter, which I've confirmed works fine on a Beige G3 Mac. I thought I may be able to get this to work on my Atari using the SCSI/Link drivers I've downloaded for MiNT from http://www.anodynesoftware.com/ethernet/main.htm. It's a Farallon EtherMac MicroSCSI with firmware v1.1 and it is detected by HDDriver, but the network driver doesn't recognise it on boot. Does anyone know if the drivers on Anodyne Software's page might support this adapter?

Is there any source code available for the driver, perhaps the driver could be amended to add support for this adapter, of course I'm assuming it's using the same SCSI/Link protocol? It appears have the same Zilog CPU, RAM and a ROM as the DaynaPORT, but the main networking chip appears to be an MX98902QC, so it's a little different inside to the photos on here of one of the DaynaPORT adapters; http://goughlui.com/2013/07/28/tech-flashback-daynaport-scsilink-t/.

Thanks,

Daniel

The source code for the Dynaport XIF can be found on the Freemint Github.
https://github.com/freemint/freemint/tr ... /daynaport
The SCSI commands are documented at anodyne website, so they are pretty generic but Farallon may have different initialising code?

You can try to contact Roger, he is still active doing Emutos.

Ah brilliant, thank you! Didn't realise all the source code was on GitHub - thought it was probably lurking around in the dark depths of the Internet. I'll take a look and see if I can get it to work.
