Atari PTC1426 Display - does it 15khz?

Postby AtariSociety » Thu Dec 21, 2017 6:34 pm

Hi, I have a nice Atari PTC1426 monitor that I used on my TT030. Sold the TT030 a while ago but now have an Mega STe.

With the use of the monitor port to VGA adapters that now sell, I want to use this display on the Mega STe as it fits nice and snug on top like the TT030.

Question... does this display go down to the 15khz? That way I know I can then use it on the Mega STe or other older Atari I have.

On the back of the display is a toggle switch that allows switching between VGA and TTC. Not sure what TTC is.

Maybe that is the mode used to allow the display to go down to 15khz?

I think it is a VGA Monitor only for an Atari TT ...

Yeh from what I have seen, and I asked this a while back over on AtariAge, was it was made for TT and Falcon.

But does that mean the display can't do down to 15khz?

I plan on buying one of these small Atari RGB to VGA adapters, like the one Exxos sells, that allow older Atari to connect to VGA displays.

These devices need a display that can play down to 15khz.

So wondering if this display, the PTC-1426, can go down to 15khz.

My Mega STe has the normal Atari display port on back so it uses older SC1224 now. Plan is to connect the nice Atari VGA display using one of these smaller adapter devices.

So as long as the PTC1426 does 15khz, I would think it should work. But I have no idea if it does that.

So I am guessing this means no...

Zeilenfrequenz:
31,46 KHz

;-(

If I am reading that right.

Will have to stick with using the SC1224.

IIRC that is for switching between TT "VGA" and real VGA. I believe this monitor was used with Atari PC's too.

Does not do 15Khz. It's just a simple PC VGA monitor
