So if I have ATI Mach 64 and an ET4000 cards, Then I will need a different GAL to test each???

No...there is one GAL "that rules them all". :) To be more precise: It supports ET4000 and Mach64 cards.

Hi Frank, I pulled my old Nova and swapped the video card, mach 64. I swapped the jumpers to 1 and 2 for TT and not working. Do I have to use a different driver?

For a ATI MACH64, right ?

Driver Software -> http://silicon-heaven.org/atari/nova/TT030/

You need the MACH64 GAL I think.

There is one GAL that supports Mach64 as well as ET4000, but there is also a early version that supports only ET4000!
Try one of my drivers and follow the instructions for the jumpers.

There are two parts to this.

First the Nova sent to me definitely works on some level. Since I have a Mach64 card I tried the superplus driver but it is very unstable and only works in low resolution/low colors modes. It is possible that using the Mach32 version of the driver would work fine but I didn't try it. I believe that if I swap the GAL with the Mach64 GAL from my old SuperNova card it will work fine.

The other part is that I got my old Nova card working. This has a Mach64 card with 2MB vram and a Superplus GAL. I figured out that I can do 2MB modes and that the problems I had before were because my old monitor didn't support the modes and timings for some reason. So now I can do 1280x1024x256col on my old Nova. Very nice! I also figured out the problem with my old Nova is that the ribbon cable is flaky so I figure if I replace that it will work well again.

Do you think I could swap the Superplus GAL from my old Nova into this new one you sent me or is the format/pins different now? I notice the board layout is pretty different so I didn't want to just try it. Is there a way to get another Superplus/Mach64 GAL? I can only seem to find Mach64 cards.

Be happy about only finding the Mach64 cards. ;-)
You can swap the GALs between the cards without any problems.
<vague memory mode on>
You should be able to use the SUPER_PL GAL (Mach64) in a TT with Mach64 or ET4000, just the jumper needs to get set differently. For the Mach32 you will need another GAL.
A MegaSTE seems to need another type of GAL (SUPER_SE) for a ET4000 card.
</vague memory mode off>
I will look into this as soon as I can find the necessary time for it.

So further I seem to be having problems with the DRAM cards. I don't know yet if the card I bought is defective or if it is a driver issue as I have no other PC hardware to put it in!

My original card was a DRAM card and it stopped working. Not sure why but it was very consistent. I got a VRAM card and it was working but flaky due to my old cabling. With new adapter it is rock solid. Now when I swap in my new DRAM adapter it is reliably broken. Hmm..

I don't remember which DACs are supported, but if I have a card with the same DAC at home, I will test it.

One thing to mention, this card is *identical* to the other card I had before I purchased the replacement VRAM card. It worked, but I was not using Idek drivers at that time. But an identical card to this definitely worked on my TT before. Now both of these cards don't work. Maybe something is wrong with a VME data line on my TT? I just wish there was some way to get more debug output about what is happening. Emulator just doesn't work. VMG crashes with 2 bombs

The problem is power supply. DRAM card does not work properly with PicoPSU. Works fine with stock power supply. Sheesh.
