Jinee: starting Unix-styled applications

Postby wongck » Tue Sep 22, 2009 1:29 pm

On Jinee desktop replacement, double clicking on a unix-styled program (like tsch, gzip etc) that does not have an extension brings out the viewer and display the program in hexadecimal. How to make Jinee run these programs like a TPP or TOS?

Ok guys, sussed it out.
there's just a setting that states which drives uses the unix styled executable bits.
Just enable it and we're good to go.

So that's why the config-dialog in Jinnee is so huge! It's filled with options that other desktops detects automatically ;-)

Yeah, kind of dumb too.
Imagine having something that is essentially should turn on always configurable.
