No reason why it wouldn't work. It's a normal IDE>Dual CF adapter. I think it is suitable.

I was also thinking of getting one of these.
However, I remember someone mentioned that Falc don't like Master & Primary drives.
But I do not remember where I saw this article.

Hi,

Are you suggesting that it is best to stick with a single CF > Ide adapter?

Thanks

Well I have a dual in mine and it works fine, though I have only populated one of the slots.

I only have a single CF card adapter, but only tried on my TT, not my Falc.
So I am not sure if dual CF adapter will work.
We need Muphex to test it out

Great.
Now I remember that it was the IDE cable must not be too long.
I read that in a page about casing the falc on to a PC tower.... but not sure where from as the web is pretty large.

I have ordered some Dual and Single CF to IDE 44pin adapters from ebay, and they work great..
Using HDDriver 8.23..

I have also ordered a SD to IDE 44pins and that one is a little bit tricky because it uses Cableselect..
HDDriver does see it and partitioned it, but booting from it is a different story.. this because i think the cableselect..
I will try to force it this week to master or slave with some hard wiring..
This would be nice in combination with UltraSatan's i have both for my STe and STf...

Atari pin 28 is n/c means that the cable select is alway slave.
Actually with HDDriver, you can also make it boot from slave without any hardware modification, as Atari test all drives for bootsector.

Well found what the problem was
I did not partitionized the card the right way..

Problem solved..

Now to add a second 44pin connector to the cable.. and let 1 CF cardslot outside the back :)

So you attached the CF, not the SD?

I have 1 microdrive 4gb(CF) and 1 SD card on the IDE bus.. works perfect!
SD card slot is coming out of the back of the falcon.

Now it is easy to swap the card between Ultrasatan, Falcon and PC..

Yeah, I suspected my sd-card reader cannot be in place with another ide device. :(
Anyhow, I have it on my scsi bus now so there's no issues in using with.

Does it have a master/slave jumper ? Might help...
Don't know how the Falcon handels this though.

Unfortunately it don't have one :(
Low cost product cut cost by removing features like this.
And the chip select feature was also not working as it clash with the master HDD.

ances

you need to use a primary boot drive of less than 2GB fat 16 and tool's load sequence
then you can add partitions 'seen' only
once you add extendors to the basic layer

this includes reloading drivers instances {changed settings sent}

to adjust and load extensions that allow access to advanced media

Finaly received my ramboard and some other CF parts and cables.
So I was able to put all components togheter.

Configuration:
IDE Master: 4Gb Microdrive @ 3.3v divided in several partitions.
IDE Slave: CF (1GB TOS&DOS) slot made for external acces. so i can swap this card with PC and Falcon for copying large files etc..

Also I wanted to keep the metal casing surrounding the new Ramboard and External CF slot.. so i did a little bit of cutting :)

I've performed a similar hack on my Atari Falcon 030 by ripping out the floppy drive and installing a hot-swappable SD card reader in it's place!
Check it out here: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3916924&id=194030228974

 Mine not much of a hack, just the 3 way ribbon and an CF adapter which I later replace with a SD-card reader which I later replaced with a DVD drive.
I moved my SD-card reader to my SCSI chain as I can also use it on my TT.
I am using SD instead of CF because my desktop and notebook comes with a SD reader/writer as default.
I read that SD reader comes default on HiFi system as nowadays. 8O

Yes SD is much more common nowadays :)

But I have so much CF's and Microdrives left from my other hobby Fotography :) that i decided to go for CF's only..
Only my Ultrasatan's have SD..
