Hi!
I've got some problems with my falcon vidoe display. No matter what I connect (nec multisync gx2pro(via VGA cable), sharp lc19d1ebk(via scart) or philips cm-8833_II(custom made cable)) I have diagonal interference as shown below. It looks like diagonally moving white points .
When I'm connecting falcon to tv via normal antenna cable(tv out) it seems that that this effect is gone(,but I will not mention that screen output looks like crap).
Anyone had similar problem and knows how to solve it?
I have also suspicion that the interference could be generated by pico psu or power supply(which is no name, universal one, but I couldn't find anything that could output 12v )... I cannot confirm that atm, because I haven't atx power supply to make some tests.. any ideas?

Re: problems with video display on falcon
I noticed some interference with VGA when I had the internal shielding removed. Mine was different though since it displayed circular distortion patterns.

Re: problems with video display on falcon
well it turned out that it's the fault of the 12v power supply (universal/no name, chinese brand). I've connected the old atx brick and the screen display is perfect now..
Anyone knows maybe reliable 12v power supply (something that I could use in europe of course, no cosmic uk/us style power plugs please
)?

Hi,
How much Ampere did the 'faulty' 12V powersupply deliever?
Since you're using a PicoPSU, i assume you run the falcon with a ct6x.
The PicoPSU is strong enough, according to many users, but it can only be as
reliable as the 12V source.
PicoPSU for ct6x Falcons should be the 120W one, and i _guess_ its working
in the 90% range of its rating. Lets also consider it has a efficiency of great 95%at
this level, only 5% lost in temperature.
Lets calculate:
120W * 90% = 108W needed for Falcon060
Of course you need to input as much power as you want to take out , plus the loss.
108W * 105% = 113,4W
Since all this power comes from your 12V AC adapter, this has to deliver
113,4W / 12V = 9.45A
Your 12V AC->DC Adapter needs to be rated at 9.5, better 10 A to suffice.
Anything less will result in voltage drop and obviously cause your video problem.

Beetle

beetle: thanks for reply. It seems that mine 12v power supply is too weak. As the description says it's 5A power supply..
Funny is that, I couldn't find other 12v PSU in my area which is quite strange...

Re: problems with video display on falcon
Do you have the 12V only variant of PicoPSU or the 12-25V one?
If its the latter, you might find a 19V or so Laptop Power supply that has
some more Watt to spend.
12V, 6 A might be sufficient in that case.
Since your Falcon060 did actually run, 12V/5A might be the break even point,
a tad more and your problems disappear.

beetle: it's a standard 12v version I think...
