Jumper settings for EPSON SMD-340 for Falcon

Postby keropi » Sat Mar 08, 2008 8:32 pm

Hello!

I found from an old 486/66 pc I had an Epson SMD-340 drive ! (it has a label of SMD-300 and on the connector side it has another small label that says SMD-340, IIRC it was acting as 1.44MB on my old 486...)
Do I need to change the jumper configuration so it works on the Falcon? Unfortunatelly I am posting at home, where the drive/falcon is at my workplace so I cannot tell u how it is jumpered right now...
thanks for any help! :D

Just change the drive ID from 1 to 0 and it will work.

For what its worth, I have an SMD-300 in my TT and an SMD-340 in the Falcon...

Or the other way round?

They both work just fine in each other, and annoyingly they both fail to write to a full 1.4MB Floppy but can read one just fine.
MSTE @ 16Mhz : 4MB+8MB : Magic & Jinnee
TT030 @ 32Mhz : 10+16MB : Magic & Jinnee
Falcon060 @ 95Mhz : 16+512MB : MiNT & Jinnee
More PCs than PC World has... Probably
