unzip with long filenames under MINT

Postby Mark_G » Mon Jul 16, 2007 6:15 pm

Hello,

Maybe a noob question, but how can I unzip files with a long filename under MINT.
I installed easymint, an I downloaded the latest xaaes bin. But I cannot unzip them.

I copied the file at my ext2 partition, which uses long filenames, but pkzip refuses to work, and I cannot do it wit unzip.ttp.

P.S.
Under magic, it's not a problem, place the file over the unzip.ttp and the unzip starts without problems.

Regards,

Mark

Did you enclose the path/filename in inverted commas? There might be a character that throws the arguments parser off (e.g. space...)?

Yes, and thank you. I do use that as needed, but I would prefer to find something that runs in TOS so I can drag and drop, or install it as an applications rather than typing in command line stuff.

I started using Atari ST computers specifically to get away from command lines.

Thanks!

Yep,

Graphical is the easiest way.

I shall try to install the unzip package, and test it with a graphical front-end.

Found Arcview from Philipp Donzé.

Is a graphical shell for ZIP, LZH, ARC, ARJ, ZOO and TAR.

It can handle long filenames.

Will try it under mint+ xaaes.
