Pea stole my game and showed it in video form. This went down really well. By well I mean quite poo ;)

I actually got asked this question more than once at the party, it seems being a video & being shown at the start made lots of people totally ignore it ;) and had the added benefit of making some people who did see it think it was a fake game - full of win!

There really wasn't a good way I could have stood up & showed it to be fair, not in under 25-30 minutes of actually playing through each level, which would have kind of spoiled the point of having an adventure game, having it completed in front of you... yawn. Each section does exist in some form but needs a fair bit of work work. Just for the record, there's a kind of reaction game, point & click adventure, text adventure in virtual world inside game world, bank hack/quiz thing and typing of the dead sceners, that's all wrapped inside a simple point & click world.

So for example, with the typing of the dead at the moment the character just pops up with the phrase beside them, there is no animation, no score keeping, just a rank. The point & click level has the basic stuff you need to complete it, with little in the way of 'fun' stuff & hidden stuff. The text adventure only has maybe 10 rooms, the final version could easily be bigger with more to do.

The idea to start with was that each level would just be a little taste of a game type, but when I sat down to do it I realised you need pretty much 80% of the effort of making something proper just to get the taster... error on my part.

Pink is working hard on proper RG stuff so there will be something at some point, a few people took some sneaky peeks over his shoulder at what he was doing.

Nah you misunderstand, it's all good :) It's an early preview of a game that not many people are going to fully understand even when it is released & they sit down to play it... it's quite comedy that few people thought it was real (just yesterday I got 2 messages from old atari friends saying they liked my fake game - yay!)... but just wait until they play it, they might have to ask themselves the same question again :P Basically, if you know me & know some of the things I like, you will get some of it, the less you know, the less you will understand and the less I will care. Simple :D

SH3 : You should have done your presentation "Japanese TVCM advert" style, they manage getting people motivated to buy a game in 30 seconds. ;)

Anygoo, I can wait to experience the Curious Spillage, and that's no cheap recomforting talk.
Knowing your humor, your scene knowledge, and your capability to mix those two into a game form, no doubt it'll be massive fun for us Atari people. :)

:) I've been helping a bit with getting Clix ready but I've not had any time for my thing. I will pick it up again I promise, but that will have to wait until I am less busy with work & other things. Thanks for keeping me motivated though, it's really appreciated :D
