Mug: I have discovered a tool on your quartet rip disks... to merge the two quartet files into ONE... I think thats a very nice thing and I will use that one from now on :)

mug: just found out how to include the text :) lol.. im blind... well... I just depacked all your .4Q rips which you had packed using ICE... We need
a decent replay for PC too I think...

Is it possibly to modfiy the text entries without seperating them and merging it again with new text? ... I think the composers should be mentioned on this text... Can you please check it out?

The files just need splitting, the text editing and re-merging (and re-packing if necessary) ..

If Ben (of SC68) fame can get them working under WinAMP, then maybe we could just ask him for a simple Windows player? Or maybe Leonard could have a go at it?

A lot of the earlier ones (e.g. Loricels releases and Sidewinder) were just sample chunks played back .. or for the really lazy coders, just a single straight sample playing.

I think Alpha Flight is a .MOD as I have the original disk and will take a peek.

Will crack on and see what I can do .. will re-post results soon for you. Might have to take STEEM with me on work laptop and a ST CD or two :)

(off top of memory!)

Apache Flight (intro)

Powermonger
Projectyle (quartet, mug is on it ) - one of those that don't play with any replay code as such :(
Purple Saturn day (intro) - for it's age, I'd guess that it's linked samples a la Captain Blood and tons of other Ere Informatique/Loricels games in their day.

Ra (digi,chip-hybrid?) - almost sure this is a Mad Max conversion - ask Grazey

Sidewinder (exotic format?) - linked samples

Sir Fred (quartet) (composer: Charles Callet) - sure this is more linked samples .. will double check with Soundlab.

Steve McQueen Westphaser - I'm sure Grazey ripped this ??

The Carl Lewis Challenge - TFMX - I know Grazey ripped this in the past

Turbo Cup (Composer: Michel Winogradoff) - definitely a linked sample

Re: Rippers needed - missing musics list - updated Nov 2012

Postby Mug UK » Sat Nov 10, 2012 7:43 pm

Here's one off your list, Lotek.

MIS Sound Demo - no protection and just had to wade through the files and work out tune names based on a dead listing of the HiSoft Basic code (which was painful!).

MISDEMO.zip

*edit* - just re-read your list and a *lot* of the early Loricels games should appear in your Linked Samples list. I used to (attempt) remixes of the title tracks in my youth using the Lost Boys GFA 2-based Sample playback routine :) I'm sure someone with talent on a soundtracker could re-create the tunes? They're just broken down chunks of a sample that need re-assembling - and might need a few tweaks as, from memory, some of them weren't cut up very well (Mach 3? Or was it Turbo Cup?).

Aaaannd back to playing Fallout 3: New Vegas :)
