Quartet2Protracker-converter needed! :)

Yeah Mug, just grabbed one and already seeming some inaccuracies in the conversion - there's a few "bum notes" in the conversion of the TLB DSOTS tune (Cannibalistic Def Orgy). Easy enough to fix the tune, but I know you and Lotek want 100% accuracy in conversion....*sigh*

the guy is

SCY/TSCC .. one of our coders and
yes the conversions are not done
100% ... we had to do lots of re-fixes
by hand... which sucked a lot

you can reach him at: scy@tscc.de

I suspected that, but I wasn't sure. Big respect to him for getting the routines as far as he did. I am now unsure whether to continue my efforts, or to try and see if I can get his code to do more.

If it were me I'd be more inclined to start from scratch but thats just me :) That said I wonder whether the reason for "bum" notes might be Quartets slide to note command not being handled very well by the convertor. You'll have to try a good few tracks and look for a pattern in the behaviour. I'll plug my Falcon in later this morning and pull off all my Quartet tracks for ya.

Damn that MUG and his nagging....

Got my .4V header decoding working. Admittedly, on company time, but its been a slow day...

Gonna do some more work tonight cos there's nothing worth watching on TV - got next week off too so I hope to be productive on it then too

Moi? Une nagger? :)
Having sold 99.9% of my 1300+ collection of originals, I'm taking a bit of a back seat on the forum. I'll still do the front-of-house admin tasks as and when they're required but, for now, I'm enjoying my Xbox 360 time too much :)

Am I right in assuming that all samples in a .SET file have the same frequency? Just trying to determine whether I need Set.Frequency or Instrument.Frequency in my code....

Also, are the sample offets all relative to the beginning of the file, or from each other contiguously? I am guessing the first option...

The Khz value is stored at the start of the song file but the voice set I'm not too sure on.

The Mr Music source code should explain the .SET header than most documentation will.

However, if you open up the voiceset file in the VOICES.PRG and add up the lengths of the file, and their position in the file, this would tell you if you got the correct offset values?

Yeah, I think thats a different thing, almost like a "Mixer" frequency

Managed to find answers from Scy's code now anyway.
