Songs of the Unexpected - Challenge

Postby MoodST » Tue Jun 25, 2002 8:36 am

Hi everybody,

I know I have already mentioned that in some previous topics, but I'm really looking forward to see an emulated version of a demo called Songs of the Unexpected. That was one of the first STE Sound Demo I got, and honestly I think that both the quality and the originality of the tunes had no equivalent (of course this is only a personal feeling).

The image of this demo is not working in any emulator.

Has anybody got a patched version of that demo ?

If such a patch does not exist yet, this might be a good challenge in the future (Please Leonard, please, you the Patch Master can you help me  :D )

thanks a lot,

Cheers,

You can post it here to see.

I'm very curious to see this demo on my real STE.

Here it is...

Postby MoodST » Tue Jun 25, 2002 11:27 am

Hi,

Here it is,

I hope you will like it as much as I did.
I have not tried to convert that image back to ST, I hope it will work.
Otherwise, I know that this image can be found on the web too, and that the results is the same on Saint / Steem and Winston.

enjoy it...

Cheers,

Press Space not working

Postby MoodST » Tue Jun 25, 2002 1:01 pm

Yeah i don't really understand what can cause this issue (having no programming skills myself), but when the Caress Space message is applied on Steem and Saint, pressing Space has no effect. On Real STE it is working fine.

Have you listened to the Music of the Intro in Steem ? Did you know that Demo (also called Elxion XVI since it is possible to browse the image and run the Esion Tracker STE).

Thanks for trying it anyway.

Postby Zorro 2 » Wed Jun 26, 2002 11:11 am

I make image with pbl at sector 82-83 and I try on my STE : this demo display bombs, Grrrrrrrrr !!!!

If you want players and trackers, I can post a compil here ! But ProTrackers for STE (Esion XLi) can't load module in Steem and freeze on Saint. Affair to be followed...

bombing ?

Postby MoodST » Wed Jun 26, 2002 12:15 pm

Hi,

Sorry for the bombs,

It should not bomb on a STE. I have got the original floppy for this demo, I'll have a look at it if I've got some spare time. I'm sure my floppy is working.

I think the image is OK too since I found it on the web and the results were exactly the same.

This is strange, I'll investigate as soon as I get some spare time. Thanks anyway for your help.

Cheers,

Good news !!!

Postby Zorro 2 » Tue Jul 09, 2002 3:46 pm

Hi there !!!

I have just received Kimmo Hakala's email which has to send me the patch to put on this great demo made by WIZZCAT (code+gfx), WALKMAN & GLADIATOR (musics) on Atari STE. I have patched and test it. I've finally was able to see this magic demo on STEEM (with TOS 1.62) which is really unique, I leave you only judge...

ImageImage

I thank a lot Kimmo (I'm not dream ! I reassure you ! ) to have send me the patch and ask MoodSt to have an email because some people try to join him...

Eh Brume ! Here is a new demo that you can add very soon on your website... mOa too !

Great work :)

But you'll say I'm never happy: are you sure the disk is safe 100%? One tune makes Steem crash. I'll try that on my STE, but that's really strange...
Lie down on the floor and keep calm.

Yes, you've right little beetle

But I'm going to make presents, I done module bonus from this demo, I join HURRICANE which make bomb under STEEM regrettably and the famous Klisje Paa Klisje module in version Amiga and Atari St.

I hope that Hurricane.mod version is the same of the musicians include on this big great demo ! Only MoodSt can know it ???

You can download THE player of module here http://www.modplug.com/modplug/download.php3

And don't forget the website STALIVE by Fel'X at http://www.chez.com/stalive/

Enjoy !!!

It's Kimmo that it's necessary to thank, it wasn't able to contact you then he made with me (he couldn't post in the forum !). Now you put your email on your profile, one can join you more easily.

You've right mister MoodST, this demo is very very genialissime !!!! :D
