YM2149 remix of the Dr.Who theme on youtube.

Postby accxess » Wed Jun 30, 2010 8:20 am

YM2149 remix of the Dr.Who theme on youtube. The tune is not made on real ST hardware but uses simple VST synths, tweaked to recreate the classic YM sound. Some filters have also been used to fatten the sound. Enjoy :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6uJR583VJM

Good stuff

The ST Doctor who Computer game has a quite good version of it too.

Ooh! That is very good. The current arrangement of theme used for the show is very anaemic; more James Last than Radiophonic!!!!!!!

We need someone to remix this........

This still gives me goose bumps.

Wish I could listen to this, but I'm at work right now & have no speakers :(

The best remix of the dr who theme tune as far as I'm concerned (and I'm not talking chiptune versions here) is by Orbital. :)

I'd have to agree, they played it at Glastonbury festival last month, it was epic :)

I first heard their cover at glastonbury too - some year around 2000 / 2001 (cant really remember, no suprise really). I just love the way it turns evil & the drum & bass kicks in...

Back to the original topic - loved the vst cover! Sounds very authentic.

I have to agree, I saw Orbital at the Arvika festival in Sweden a couple of years ago, one of the best concerts i have seen, right up there with Jarre's milleninum concert :) Btw, I uploaded another track on youtube. Lethal Xcess level2. As usual I have tried to keep (re-create) the YM feel.. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzxqZMjZHCA
