I couldn't find very much info about the inside of the SM-146 monitor.
I recently managed to buy one in Germany for 25 euros and it was in nice condition but I could still see some slight yellowing an I wanted it to match my Mega STE which looks like new after retrobrighting it. I mainly bought the SM-146 from a collectors point of view, IMHO the monitor nicely completes the Mega STE for exhibitions etc. on the same day I also picked up a NEC multisync 1970 which I'll probsbly use mostly because it can handle all, resolutions.
Anyway, Retrobrighting it meant a complete disassembly. I've worked on a lot of arcade monitors the last ten years, so this was not hard at all, in fact the compact size compared to 19" and larger CRTs made it a lot easier to handle.
I figured I'd take a good number of pics to document it a bit, and thought others might benefit from it....
So here they are..
