Atari Mega STe MIDI to USB instrument

Postby TechCowboy » Tue Jan 09, 2018 5:07 am

Tried to google search this, but maybe my search terms were poor.

My celviano piano keyboard has a female USB B (host) connection
The Atari, of course, the 5 Pin DIN connector

Is there a device that will allow me to connect these together?

The keyboard came with a standard printer cable (male USB B to male USB A)

I see lots of PC (male USB A) -> MIDI 5 pin DIN, such as this,
https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/ro ... 65566.aspx

but I don't know if just using a "gender bender" adapter to convert the male USB A connect to a female USB A would work.

Anyone know or have a solution?

your post on the FB group is probably the best solution - using the RaspPi.

Yes, there is!

This is exactly what you're looking for, I believe: http://www.kentonuk.com/products/items/ ... host.shtml

I should also add that a gender bender definitely won't work. You might even blow it up. You need a device specifically made for this type of connection.

Atari Mega STE and TT will soon habe Lightning USB interface. There is also NetUSBee with USB interface and something for ACSI-DMA-port with USB. There must be a skilled software programmer which could make a CUBASE driver for that...????
Power without the Price. It's not a bug. It's a feature. _/|\_ATARI
