Eiffel adaptor installation help

Postby stormy » Sun Apr 16, 2017 7:25 am

Could anyone give me advice on the pins on this Eiffel board I got? I have no instructions for it and I don't know how to install it.

Those headers are for the two 9-pin joystick connectors that you lose when removing the original Atari keyboard.

Due to a bit of a design flaw, the pins don't directly map 1-1 if you attempt to use a ribbon connector with an IDC 9-pin dsub. PM AlanH - he may be able to help you.

Sorry, no idea. It's not my board so I'm not sure what those pins are for.

Am I losing my mind? I could have sworn I bought an Eiffel board made by you at some point? While this doesn't look exactly like one of yours, I'm sure it has these headers on it as I have one of them connected to a 9pin dsub connector.

Maybe I need a lie down...

Yeah I tried contacting the sellers, but they seem to be re-sellers. They bought a large amount to sell off. So whoever made these, made a _lot_. I can obviously use it quite easily for my TT, but ideally I'd like to install it in my Falcon to give it PS2 inputs. All I need is a wiring diagram as to how the pins on the board connect to the pins on the mobo. I think the black plastic encased one on the left is for joystick but the pins on the right must be to connect to the Falcon/ST.

According to that page it seems my Eiffel is TT only. I think the pin-outs that are labelled 'To Atari' is the rj12 cable. Unless I solder/piggyback off the rj12 connectors solder joints perhaps.

You can build a RJ12 Adapter to your Falcon or ST/STE Mainboard. Search on the Web for a schematic ...
