Did either of you install in a Mega STE? I just installed a 920.. and I get it to work as a DD.. but not HD.. I thought an Mega STE after the SEL0 was just ready to go?

Atari030.. do you have any SMD-300 series in there? that you know work? and would be willing to sell? The Sony mfp920s I have all have black faceplaces... sigh....

I'm in Aussie, might not be too helpful. ;-)

Yes, I have put 1.44's into MegaSTE's before. They work differently to a Falcon in that they need the right controller and jumper setup to work in HD. WD1772-02 or Ajax. Early models had DD and WD1772's, they moved off to the Ajax and HD. A jumper needs to be set on the mainboard and a Ajax installed if you have an older model. In saying that, I'm pretty sure I ran overclocked WD1772's on some machines and they ran OK.

The PAL is the important part here. If you only get DD then it's the PAL I would check both once and twice that you really have the -002 version of.

I got another thread going, as this is just an HD in Mega STE issue, not specific to the 340 - though I have not had one work yet. I have posted pics of the chips in that thread.
