The Address range is differently and the I/O transfer from the VOFA is in 8bit mode and the Ram access is in 16bit mode.

The sources are available, and I can see that it tries to autodetect if it's running on a STGA or VOFA adapter. I'll look into this in a few days.

I'm painting my house these days so very little time left for fun, but I spent some minutes last night debugging this. The VOFA register base address is correctly detected, but the VGA init code runs in an endless loop waiting for a VBL. So I guess Till's init code does not work with my ET4000 card. I have some code that correctly initializes my ET4000, it's based on a register dump and I originally intended to use this in EmuTOS but I fear that it will only work with some cards.

ET4000 cards that work will have ...

- Clockgenerator chip 2494 or compatible with a 14,xxx Quarz
- 1MB Ram
- TSENG ET4000 Chip
- 80Mhz RAMDAC (1024x768/256 Colours at 60Hz will also work with a 66Mhz RamDAC)

SynDAC or GenDAC cards with a buildin Clockgenerator in the RAMDAC and cards with PAL or GAL chips do not work.

Most ET4000 cards will work in the VOFA Adapter. Cards with control PAL/GAL Chips will not work. Also problems there with cards that have a Gen/SyncDAC ...

The picture are not big enough. Try it with the Nova Driver T0 or T8 -> https://www.silicon-heaven.com/atari/nova/VOFA/

bootorder is 1. emulator.prg, 2. menu.prg, 3. sta_vdi.prg and the BIB Files ...

When the ISA Pad B7 is connected on the card you must connect -12V from the Mega ST Mainboard (Serial Port Circuit, see the schematics) ...
