Doesn't it feel like some kind of dichotomy.

On one hand a completed (superior?) Mach16 booster with cache, but little knowledge of its design workings or software.

The other, Exxos plugging away with prototypes trying to reinvent the wheel. And here is a 'lost' Ferrari gathering dust.

There is no measure of pleasure of doing projects of any sort, but life reveals such demonstrations of wasted lessons.

Is it the same accelerator as this one?

Edit: Just found your thread about this on atari-home. My German is rusty - is the cache enable pin indeed connected to the PSG? If so, then it should be trivial to write this ACC from scratch. I can do it for you if you like.

Hello Jo Even, it is not the same accelerator card, my maxom mach16 card -> http://www.maedicke.de/atari/galerie/st ... ach-16.htm

The maxon mach16 from your Link is a different one, a maxon DIV project.

I test allready all possibilitys to switch the cache with hardware on, but all failed.

I not know which hardware address is use to put the L2 Cache on ?

May be the same as the Mega STE ?

The CPU on the Card run all the Time with 16Mhz ...

I can send you my Card, give me your Address via PM ...

I contact the guy via Facebook, but without any luck ...

This accelerator predates the Mega STE, so I doubt that. If it use the same register then the Mega STE cache cpx should work.

I don't think that would be necessary. Could you explain how this accelerator is installed? Is it only inserted in the original 68000 socket like the ADSpeed, or are there some additional wires?

The CPX with the Mega STE options don´t work/run because the machine cookie is not set to Mega STE one ...

The Card sits on the 68k CPU socket or on the MonSTer card from Alan and the 16Mhz HC 68k is on top of the card, see the picture.

No wire necessary !

CDIS is an INPUT from the 22V10 GAL and set with the pullup high, I put this to low, but nothings happens ...

I think the whole card is design to set only via software.

Yes, it seems so. It should be possible to figure out the address of the register(s), but I'm afraid I don't have time for that now.
