WTB: TOS 1.4 roms

Postby JonB » Fri Feb 24, 2012 12:44 pm

Hi

Has anyone got a pair of TOS 1.4 ROMs? I need the 2 chip set for my Mega ST2. Otherwise I will have to desolder the ones in my 520...

Thanks

JonB

You can get them from here.

Unfortunately my burner's all packed away for a while otherwise I would have offered to burn you a copy.

Hmmm... expensive. What sort of EEPROMs are they? I have a burner right here.

2-chip TOS goes on a pair of 27C010's. Try an get 80ns if you can. No slower than 120ns though.

How's that, then? I looked at a datasheet for the 27C010 EEPROM and it has 32 pins; there are only 28 pins on the ROMs in the Mega, so that EEPROM won't fit.

Ordered.. but I just found out my crappy Chines burner is playing up. I have a load of 27256 EEPROMS from an earlier project, that would be perfect for doing a 6 chip 1.4 set for this old 512 motherboard I have lying about. It's got socketed roms. However, the darned thing keeps coming up with write errors. I had it working before, now it's borked. And the supplied software isn't much use either. Grrr. Probably a driver thing. Zero documentation, and the program's all badly translated Chinese.

TOP853 in case anyone knows anything about them, using TOPWIN v6.

On this note. Is there anyone out there who could burn a set of UK TOS 3.06 ROMs? I don't have access to an EPROM burner here, not even a TOP853!

You can use 32pin chips... you just have to do little surgery.

I can burn, and so as many others
If you guys expirience hardware problems.
1. Always remove chips if possible before soldering.
2. Resolder your hardware, check cables too.
3. If problem continue THEN must be faulty software.

I got 2 Atari ST
Main is stfm, with blitter, with 4 meg of ram, with 16mhz cpu + s-video and audio input to videobox, vdi out
P.S.
My english may not be correct
