DJbase. If its not an entirley obtuse question.

I notice the readme docs indicated a 68k mounted, or Mega ST Expansion bus mount version wasn't impossible.

Did it, or the drivers- ever get developed?

Obviously the IORD/WR lines need to be generated somewhere. How may I ask is it done without ROM3/4 or ACSI R/W & CS?

Or does only DR Thomas or AlanH know?

Really curious....

But otherwise... Great Stuff again!!

IORD/WR on the 68k bus can be generated with R/W, LDS, SEL and an 74...139 chip. SEL may be generated of some address lines, AS and 74...688. You have to modify the drivers too of course.

PM Sent and now cash sent as well via PayPal. Now I need to start learning about MiNT and MagiC because I gather it does not work with TOS alone.

What is STiNG? Are these thingies compatible with a vanilla ST (STe, STFM, etc.) or not? (Sorry I am easily confused... :? )

EDIT: The above read a bit rude. Sorry I have internet problems. I am typing things at a rush before my link dies.

I have downloaded STiNG; just got to unpack it now (it is one of those bizarre LZH files.)

So I run this on my STe and suddenly I can see the outside world?

Heh - LZH is not bizarre in the Atari world. :)

You'll have to set STing up - there are several guides around to help you do it.
Take your time, and follow the instructions carefully.

I have just had a poke around and looked at some of the documentation. I don't know yet.......... :?

EDIT: No its not for me; too complicated for my needs. Now I have an Ultrasatan I am future proofed (for the life of my STe.)

Have sent PM and Paypal for two of them! :D

Yes me too, may try STinG with Geneva first but probably go the more usual route and have a read of the great MiNT install guide by wongck available here - http://phsw.110mb.com/sw-mintinstall.html - and some more details about STinG on his site - http://phsw.110mb.com/nw-ethernet.html

Is there a preferred OS or IP stack for this card from testing, or do they all work reasonably well ?

I can only speak for my system which is MagiC with MagXNet...but the card works on all three systems (TOS, MagiC, MiNT) with all stacks.

LZH is great, especially with LZHZhell which runs rings around STZip.
I prefer this to ZIP format on the Atari.

My guide for STING configurations should be OK for Hydra, but the specific STING module should be present. I do not have a link to the STING module for Hydra, you have to work that one out for yourself.

If you have 4MB ram on your ST, you can still get away with Mint. Just tone down the caches. Otherwise just stick to STING.

The first packages are now ready for take off and will be shipped during this week. Not sure how long they will take so I guess up to 2-4 weeks depending where you live on mother earth.

Hi to all.

I just bought TT and I trying to connect it to MacBook with Hydra.

I install MagiCnet (http://users.otenet.gr/~papval/magicnet.htm), copied ENEC.MIF from djbase site to XTENSIONS and set two lines in MAGX_RC.NET:

ifconfig en0 addr 192.168.1.2 up
route add default en0 gw 192.168.1.1

and I can only ping TT (at 192.168.1.2) but I cannot ping MacBook (192.168.1.1) - I checked cable and it is ok. I do not know what to try else?

my routing table looks like this:

destination - gateway- flags - ref - use - metric - iface
default - 192.168.1.1 - UGD - 1 - 0 - 0 - en0
192.168.1.2 - * - UH - 1 -0 -0 - lo0

I am not sure how 192.168.1.2 stuck to lo0 interface ?? this is not good, right?
I know that I mistake somewhere, but I can not find where ! :)
