Microtek ScanMaker E3 plus

Postby Pastor » Sat Jan 19, 2008 12:19 am

Hi

Is there any Atari scanner software that is compatable with the Microtek ScanMaker E3 plus? If there is is the software still available? Can I please have a copy of it, thanks.

Paul

Scan-X might.
Used to be at http://www.homasystems.com/
Perhaps he left the market, I am not sure.
I have Scan-X Pro, with a serial key I purchased, but there is no printed manual that I can find.
I'm not sure if it supports that model or not.

Hi Lonny

Thanks for the reply, I have confirmed that Scan-X Pro will work with the scanner no problem. I have tried a number of sites that Homa systems have occupied but none are working. I guess it is no longer available for purchase. Are you interested in selling your Scan-X Pro?

Hi Lonny

Thanks for the reply, how well does the software work with the scanner? I will put an add up for a copy.

Thanks

I have a Umax Astra 2400S, which is very large. It works quite well, I have OCR'd one entire book and scanned quite a lot of the Atari devkit docs with it. At full resolution with 24-bit, it's awesome if you have enough disk space as the files become massive.

Nima actually added my scanner at my request. I bought that particular Umax and it was not supported, because I was having problems finding a SCSI scanner at the store. A few debug versions of his software and within the week he had it working and sent me a final version. I do not recall any crashes or such, it seems stable to me.

I'm also interested in Scan-X and would like to know where I can read more about it and maybe talk to "Nima."

Hi LP & bullis1

The latest demo versions of ScanX Pro are here

http://www.geocities.com/nmontaser/html ... x113r4.zip
http://www.geocities.com/nmontaser/html ... mg_300.zip

Also try http://www.geocities.com/nmontaser/html/ not all the pages work.

The mail address that I used for Nima was homa@canada.com.

I was charged $16.00 for a serial number which is great value it works great and the results are fantastic. Nima was very helpful and I had my serial number very quickly.

Hope that this helps.

Paul

Thanks Pastor! As it turns out, they're located in my town! I think I'll have to pay them a visit and save them on shipping costs. The graphic tablet drivers and Pixart really interest me.

Thanks ProToS! Unfortunately the docs for the Wacom tablet are in German, but I think I'll figure it out.

I should still contact Homa Systems. They're local to me, and they may have some neat stuff.
