2 Years!! Wow! I'd be kicking up a real big fuss by now. 2 Years is way too long. Either they've lost your details or they're just not going send it.

Not me either, but I was one of the last ones to order it so I expect to be last to get one.

Does anyone know if production models have started shipping yet or are the only ones out there the beta models?

Hmm, I'm glad you did get one. When did you order, and how long did it take?

Thanks much.

Well, I contacted them a short while back. They were supposed to be getting them out in small amounts. I was assured that I was still on the list and mine would come (eventually).

Still waiting though.... :(

I'll be bringing mine with me to the Evoke weekend if anyone fancies a play with it (oo-er!). Got the 512MB which I use for transferring disk images (MSA & PASTI) to the PC and a 1 Gig one with 5 partitions that's Atari only formatted so that I can (at some point) get to play around with some proper TT applications etc.

The last part is all dependant when I order my 2nd SatanDisk :)
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

May I ask why I don't get an answer to my question? Or is this neat hardware addon limited to chosen people here?! 8O

cheers,
Chris

Sorry about that, Chris. Here's a link describing it with downloads and pictures:

http://joo.kie.sk/satandisk/

That's where you can order, and get in touch with jookie to find out the cost. Though from what I can tell, they can no longer be ordered. It cost me around $86 more or less USD. jookie has much moreinfo, so try rmailing him directly.

This project wasn't for specific people, just who got there in an alloted amount of time. Nobody was ignoring you, sorry again.

Jookie is not making them.
He just 'invented' them, and some other guys are building and selling them.

exactly. i wonder where the hell all people like you were -- for about half year there were news at atari.org, atari-forum, atari.sk, google groups, ... and now, when we're starting distribution, at least 20-30 new people appeared or "woke up" and want the SD *immediately*.

sorry guys but this isn't the way how it works -- either buy right in time or you have to find someone else who will build this hardware for you (yes, it's COMPLETELY free).

sorry for such attitude but in last weeks i don't do anything other than answer mails like "where and how can I buy satandisk???"...

First, thanks to all for your answers.

I just asked where they can be ordered since the appearance of this thread makes one believe that there must be someone actually manufacturing them. I never wrote that I want it *immediately*. It was a simple inquiry for information *where* to obtain.

I don't get the point what's so abusive about asking such a simple question.

If you're already done with your business and I'm too late, okay, bad luck for me this time. But there's no reason to be pissed.

And you can't claim everybody for not knowing about Satadisk already. My inet-provider, for example, does not offer any of the atari-newsgroups. I never read or saw anything about Satadisk on any Atari-realted webpage before. A few weeks ago, Gokmase (the AICQ author) told me about this forum and I registered here. This was the first time I ever read something about this great hardware. And besides that, I have a real-life that consumes almost all of my time. So sorry again, that I did get to know of Satadisk earlier...

cheers,
Chris

PS: If you're sick of answering the same questions again and again. Why not simply making a small FAQ or something like that and asking a moderator to make it sticky?!

It seems like some ppl are getting very mad for no good reason. Sorry to see a friendly request getting such a hostile reply :(

Of course, those who order late must accept that the thing can be sold out, or delayed, that goes without saying.

But why on earth should people have to apologize for NOT having heard of this project? Shouldn't it be considered nice that more and more people are hearing about the product and that they are getting increasingly interested?

Don't feel bad about it, I too recieved a few similarly smarmy comments when I moaned about having to read through only the second biggest topic in the forum to answer a few simple questions regarding Satandisk which, as you say, could have been answered in a few lines of a good F.A.Q.
Its usually not easy getting the information you need without upsetting someone who is already "in" on any given thing, just don't be put off by the clever arses
At the end of the day, if this device had been marketted better in the first place then perhaps we would have known where to look eh? :)

I don't have one BTW, and as of yet have not the inclination or the money to get one, but from what I have seen so far it is the dog's

Ok, i can understand the reactions after all the *amazing* work they did.
Now they need to rest a little bit :)
