PAK68/3 and FRAK/2 schematic

Postby olivierg » Sun Dec 10, 2017 8:14 am

Hi All,

I search the schematic of PAK68/3 and FRAK/2 schematic, because the PCB is not available.
Can someone tell me I got this information?

Thanks
Olivier

Hi Frank,

Thanks to reply.
You are true, i have ordered the article: i very bad, it's strange, the schematic is not scan, is screen capture in lower zoom.
I have read the topics 'rePAK', but the project does not move anymore! (last post in 2014). :(
To clarify my understanding:

PAK68/3-030A accelerator with 68030 ?
PAK68/3-020 accelerator with 68020 ?
PAK68/2 accelerator with 68020 (old version) ?
FRAK/2 memory expansion for PAK68/3 ?
PuPla/2 ?
Panther/2 ?

thanks
Olivier

After read (and translate) the link:

Here is what I understood:
PAK68/3-030A: Exchange card for all ST 68K, /3 = 3rd generation 68030 (PAK68/3-020 for 68020,probably older, not see information about this generation, only /2 generation).
PuPla/2: Buffer 2nd generation for PAK68/3, separates the PAK for motherboard bus for more stability (fixe sometimes crashes, FPU support and DMA problem).
FRAK/2: Fast RAM (64M FPM or EDO) for PAK68/3-030 and PAK68/3-020 (modification needed).
Panther/2: ISA adapter (for network card NE2000).

Now see clear for update my MegaST 4, i needed PAK68/3-030A + FRAK/2 and Pupla/2.

thanks
Olivier

Ps: If I understand correctly, the schematic is 'top secret' especially for the 3rd generation.

Ok, i have ordered PCB to artik-woc.

Now i search the parts:
It's possible to use the MCU and FPU 50Mhz to down speed like 32Mhz ?
Because i found FPU in 50Mhz at lower price of 33Mhz.

Same Question about GAL, i have in stock 10ns, but the BOM 15ns.

Thanks

When I used 7ns GALs, PAK was working properly. There were big problems after adding FRAK.

Hello Olverg,
It is possible to use FPU or CPU at lower speed. Also at different speed.
Like CPU @ 33Mhz and FPU @50Mhz or even 66Mhz, overcolcing a FPU is often no problem.
And the 68000 family is A-Syncronus, so no problem.

Hello Artik-wroc,
Have a look at the cabling for the power supply.
Specially the minus needs to be very big, large surface.
Memory creates spikes in supply voltages.

Good grounding is a must. Over and over again it's repeated that
you must ground sufficiently. I think I have -3- grounds coming off
the Pak board and going somewhere on my STacy's motherboard.

HTHs.

Hi,

I have recieved FRAK-2 PCB, but the PCB as not printed overlay on both side and manual is not up to date.
I have create the overlay with PCB on back ground and BOM for easy assembling FRAK-2:

For BOM and More quality you can download here: http://www.gossuin.be/index.php/520-et-1040-stx @ end of page.

Thanks

Any chance, somewhere in the future, that you might sell an assembled,
working, ready-to-go FRAK2 board?

Thanks.

It is possible to get this revison of the Frak/2 board somewhere? Or at least the gerber files?
