CAB and overlays

Postby TheNameOfTheGame » Sat Aug 31, 2019 1:10 pm

I wasn't around when CAB was in its prime having reentered the Atari world in 2012, so I never read much about the different cab.ovl files.

My impression of them is that they are modules that "overlay" or change CAB's behavior somewhat. Is this accurate?

Also, is there any resource that describes the creation and specifics of cab.ovl files?

Hello,
CAB.OVL is a networking interface layer for use with CAB

For different versions, see :

Hello,
Ten years ago, I got cab working under magic with the overlay file.
This on a stock falcon030 and a Milan.

However, I tried it recently, and the 'https' sites don't work any-more. As far I remembered CAB always crashed.

I've never gotten https sites working under magic either. It would be nice if possible.
