can m68-atari-mint-gcc generate 68000 code?

Postby tschak909 » Sun Aug 19, 2018 8:04 pm

It looks like the default setting for this gcc toolchains generates a minimum of 68020 code, can this be coaxed to generate just 68000 code?

Where do you see that? It's not true for the standard m68k-atari-mint-gcc: http://vincent.riviere.free.fr/soft/m68k-atari-mint/

You can run

Code: Select all

m68k-atari-mint-gcc -v
If it prints something like --with-cpu=68020 then it was configured differently. You can always use -m68000 to generate plain 68000 code, but you should also check that it has the corresponding libraries installed. If it was configured for m68020, then the 68000 libraries should be in a subdirectory of /usr/lib. If they aren't, gcc will use the libraries from /usr/lib, which are most likely also for 68020 then.

The output of

Code: Select all

m68k-atari-mint-gcc -print-multi-lib

might also help
