Subj: Photoline / Photoline TT for Atari platform
I sent an email to you about a week ago concerning the status of Photoline and Photoline TT on the Atari TOS platform. I have no yet heard back from you. I would like to know the status of the application this platform, and if it is no longer supported in any way by Computerinsel if the company would be willing to co-operate with Atari user and developer community by releasing the program under a less restrictive license, either as freeware (closed source, freely distributed binaries of the final release) or as open-source, the latter allowing the Atari community to co-operatively and voluntarily continue development of the code on a non-commercial basis. Adopting either license for the program would generate a huge amount of goodwill, at essentially no cost to yourselves. Indeed, by releasing Photoline and Photoline TT under either license, many Atari users who also use the PC or Mac systems will be more likely to purchase the current version for their modern system, to facilitate transferring images between platforms, and maintaining a consistent working environment.
I hope you will consider adopting a new approach to Photoline on "obsolete" systems, as I believe it will benefit all parties and keep in use and alive some excellent software.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Have you brought the scanner yet Dark Willow? as the Epson GT scanner driver (at least the stand alone one) works with higher spec models that the 6500. I use a GT 9000, which is huge for an a4 scanner but produces good results. Just for god's sake don't try the parallel port connection, it vapourised my Falcon's sound chip when I tried it. Stick to SCSI.
we don't support the ATARI version of PhotoLine any longer. But I won't spent effort in making it freeware.
If you want, you can tell everybody that it is freeware.
I told this some other ATARI users in the past. The freeware registration number is

I don't know if the installer disks are good for the freeware code, but if you like...
