Demo game on DE10 Nano

Postby stranger13 » Sun Sep 22, 2019 7:53 am

Hello everyone, I'm going to make and demo a simple game using the DE10 Nano board with a HDMI monitor. However, after doing some online research, I just found that I need to perform MISTer with two additional components in order to demo game and unfortunately, I don't have these components. Is there any way that I can still demo game with only the DE10 Nano board ? I am very grateful for any suggestions. Thank you

Are you trying to make a game for the DE10 only, or do you intend to use the MiSTer framework on top of it?

Either way, if you are referring to the MiSTer SDRAM and IO boards, they are not at all required for your purposes.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I am trying to demo a game on DE10 only. My main purpose is a game on DE10 only and I am looking for a solution to do it. Can I do it without the support of Mister ?

Yes. MiSTer is just an addition to the DE10.

You may want to have a look at the framework anyway in case it saves you some work (you do not need extra hardware). But that can always be done later if e.g. you want MiSTer users to try your game more easily.

MiSTer framework is basically a series of utilities on the HPS and HDL side to help things such as loading files from the SD card or to use USB controllers more easily.

Thank you so much. Maybe I will continue searching on internet for the solution.
