MiSTer Project and Japan

Postby bitfan2011 » Thu Jan 31, 2019 7:06 am

Hi Everyone

Do any of you know what the status is of the Japanese working on FPGA/MiSTer implementation of various classic computers?
Is there any scene? I know they have some seemingly-odd laws about console modding and whatnot, but I also know they love kits and smart design.
The obvious one is the X68K, but you also have the NEC line like the PC-88 and PC-98. Both of those computers have tons of roots game development from famous studios. The X1 is also pretty cool.

Just sending out a smoke signal...

It looks like
Tokugawa Corporate forums are where the experts on Japanese personal computing ("pasokon") tend to gather

I just joined and will lurk and drop info about MiSTer - It seems like there is very little FPGA discussion...
Maybe we can find a legend who can bang out the PC-88 and PC-98

A good X68K core is my ultimate dream for MiSTer. Having some Japanese devs on board would probably be necessary...
