I've just joined this fine community and I'd like to thank Sorgelig for all the effort he put in this project.

I was looking for the DE10-Nano for quite some time and thinking of porting some cores myself to this great (and low-budget) board. I was quite excited when I learned about MiSTer. Sorgelig made what I would probably never be able to do myself. I hope when I got all my boards sorted I can start contributing. Sorry about the digression on this post. I have a genuine question about the expansion boards manufacture.

I'm going to assembly a total of 30 expansion boards. 10x SDRAM board XS v1.1, 10x I/O board v5.5 and 10x RTC board v1.3. Before I put my order in PCBWay I'd like to know from our European board sellers: I'm currently located in the UK, do you think I'd have problems selling my boards for the EU if the boards and soldering are not lead-free? There are legislation prohibiting lead in electronics, but if I understood correctly it should not affect hobbyists projects.

Thanks in advance.

You can find a lot of old devices selling through eBay. Those ancient devices are definitely with lead. No one prohibit to sell it.

Thanks. That will make my life easier and the boards cheaper. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the deliveries and start assembling.

Hello Everyone, since you are a connoisseur, i need your help.
I have bought this SDRam Board on internet.
The seller said it's work and i say no.
Can i plugin it safely in your opinion ?
who is right about you please ?

1: I say the 3 pin are not on the right side but it's not so important because i can easely make a connection with Arduino wire or other short wire.
2: Most important, i think the 2x20 pin are shifted. In this case, the top 20 holes are empty. I think it's dangerous for the board and my DE10-nano.
The chip is a Winbond W9825G6KH-6

Your opinion... The seller have to refund me or must I apologize to him ?

You should have a full refund and the SELLER should apologize to you.
This thing as NO chance to work and was not tested.

I got one of these, I ordered Arduino male to female cables and it works well.

Thanks cvenditti
I do not prefer to quote him for the moment.
He is very nice and have post the board very quickly but he think i have burn the board with a bad connection with the 3 pin.
In fact, i have buy it because it was indicated 256Mo in the title, so i thought it was a good affair. In fact, i was 256MBit (32Mo).
Anyway, I learned after that more than 256MBit were useless and not very compatible.

There is no way this did ever work.
All address-, data- and powerlines are switched using the lower 40 pins on a vertical mount.
Even if you manage to plug it in the 3 pins would never make any connection to the DE10-nano.
This is a really strange build.
The SD-RAM Winbond W9825G6KH-6 is ok. I use it too and it was verified working by Sorgelig.
But nevertheless - if you payed EUR 74,- you were ripped off even if it works.

Today I put some boards on eBay, too. This may stop others from making the same mistake.

I'm agree for those he sold with no 2x20 pin shifted.
With arduino dupont cable it can work. But mine have the 2x20 shifted.
If you have a photo of your working board with 2x20 pin shifted like mine on the photo i'm interested...
If you dont have a photo maybe you are the seller  or maybe i have to apologize. I'm ready to but...
So... Why the ad on his site just disappeared then ? If the boards works he can continue to sell them.
The seller refuses to refund me but i'm ready to say i'm wrong if you can prouve it with a photo.
Can you provide a photo D33ZEL ?
I have the real name of the seller... Maybe should i have to post it here ?

I'm sad to see this MatAtari...
Some sellers have no conscious. I believe it's the same seller who tried to advertise his crappy store here and in facebook group (and eventually has been banned there).
Unfortunately, it's impossible to stop this bastard to scam the people.
That's why you have to use the sellers here in this thread instead of unknown random seller on ebay.

The hard training of a MiSTER beginner.
I hope my case will help potential other newbies.
I'll contact Paypal.
The real name and adress of this guy is on my fingertips...

Thanks to all guys.

Hi MatAtari,

sorry to hear´, but you better contact eBay not PayPal.
PayPay only cares about goods delivered (not defective issues) - I've had something about 2 years ago with a defective Actioncam.

Hi MatAtari,

I'm really sorry you had this bad experience. I hope it doesn't drive you away from the MiSTer project.

Always look for the forum before buying your boards. Guys like cvenditti, THaase and ch570512 are producing and selling boat boards for a while and they're very trusted the by community. I had just started producing and selling my first boards and decided to do it via ebay as I thought it gives more confidence for the new users. I'm glad that ch570512 decided to offer his boards on ebay also, there's a clear demand (my boards were sold quickly)

Ask for a refund, if the guy doesn't accept it start a dispute. Ebay wants to keep all buyers trusting its services. You'll manage to get your money back.

Regards,
Paulo Duarte

Hi Paulo,
You're right... I went to fast by choosing the one click solution of Ebay. It's a reflex. Click and buy...
Usually i try to read before to buy directly. I will try to remember the lesson

https://www.ebay.com/itm/283105382381 - SDRAM XS
https://www.ebay.com/itm/283105398815 - Partial I/O Board

This will allow people to have other option that this scammer.

Thank you to ch570512 and paulofduarte for doing the same

And if money is not an issue for potential buyer so price of half DE10-nano is ok just for SDRAM, then think a little about core developer for MiSTer. You can buy a cheaper SDRAM module and donate the difference to me :)

Frankly speaking only few users decided to donate. And without many cores offered for MiSTer, all these boards would be useless..
10$-20$ from user is a small fraction of total cost but good support for me, spending a lot of time to deliver the cores.

I sell this complete set:

  • SDRAM board
  • IO board
  • VGA->Scart adapter

This design is planar because I don't like the "lasagna" style.

Total $50, worldwide shipping included. First donate $10 to https://paypal.me/FPGAMiSTer, and after check with Sorgelig the donation is ok, pay me the rest $40.
