MSX RGB

Postby NML32 » Sun Feb 18, 2018 5:07 pm

Sorgelig, when it's convenient, and you have time could you look into the RGB display for the MSX core on the MiSTer?
Most all of your Ports seem to work on my Sony RGB monitor.
MiSTer RGB Google Sheet (2nd Tab shows my settings)

I tried the MSX core on the MiST, and I see a proper RGB display, but on the MiSTer I get a split screen looking display.

Thanks

comparison with MiST is irrelevant. MiST uses very old version of MSX core. MiSTer uses new versions. If you will compare internals - they are so different - like 2 different cores.
I'm not very familiar to MSX core internals, so i'm afraid i won't be able to help in adjusting video mode as it may brake compatibility.
HDMI is the main video output for MiSTer. It's used exactly for such situations where you don't need to think about video compatibility. Just plug and play.

Understood, I was hoping the MiST VGA/RGB portion was similar enough to use on the MiSTer core.
Thanks for explaining.

from picture it looks like MiSTer video outputs 31KHz.
New MSX core have quite confusing system control interface. It looks like possible to change config straight from system by putting specific values into registers.
You may play with it if you want :)

I'm revising the cores due to API update, so i've checked MSX.
It always outputs 31KHz on VGA regardless scandoubler setting.
I will try to make it switchable.

Thanks

I like the new menu layout. I also noticed after LShift+LCtrl+LAlt+RAlt the Wifi stays connected.

I didn't document new features yet.
Quick press of lshift-lctrl-lalt-ralt simply reloads menu core. Long press does full reset.
