I agree that doing it kickstarter like would be terrible. I was just thinking we could post something like:
$200 for AppleII floppy disk write support - and anyone who wanted to implement it could grab the bounty, do it, and once complete collect (via paypal) $200
or $200 for working serial port in ao486
The idea that you would be held to some kind of list of tasks does sound very un-hobby like. I was thinking there are a million of small upgrades that would be cool (Hopefully I will get around to making some of them) and maybe people who aren't as technical would be willing to kick in some money to make them happen.
