Can you set just one core to run at 720?

Yes,

add a specific section in MiSTer.INI

[CORENAME]
video_mode=0

if you are unsure with the specific [CORENAME] should be you can SSH in (after starting the core) and type:
#cat /tmp/CORENAME

New core, please test it:
Black Widow
https://github.com/alanswx/Arcade-Black ... r/releases

Asteroids (regular)
this might bump into the Asteroids Deluxe rom, I am going to rename them
https://github.com/alanswx/Arcade-Aster ... r/releases

This version of regular asteroids has sounds, and better buttons.

Let me know what fixes we need in each of these cores. Dave Woo did an amazing job getting the rasterizer to fit onto the FPGA. But I am not sure I love the way it looks. Curious if the original FPGAArcade version was better. Has anyone played with that one?

I just played Black Widow for the first time. Lots of fun :D
Thank you for porting this game.
I noticed the text was a bit off, I wonder if there is anything you can do to clean up the text?

Is there any plans to add the speech to Sinistar?

Does anyone know anything about the Atari Tempest and Major Havoc FPGA system created by Scott Swazey ? I just remembered this and looking at the point I linked to in this video it's running on the de10. https://youtu.be/NVzlWMWNjeQ?t=1951

I see the same thing on Black Widow.
On Asteroids two of the segments on the asteroids is white and not blue like the rest of the segments.
Doesn't affect playability at all.
Thanks for the cores!

I have speech working but have been trying to implement a Low Pass filter to get rid of the hiss - work in progress.

That’s good to hear. Any chance of sound fix for Robotron?

As I worked on speech for Sinistar I found that the sound board was running too quick (about 11%). I slowed both board clocks to make the speech sound correct. This adjustment should be correct for the other Williams boards. I will get around to updating Robotron and Joust first for testing for those with younger ears than mine.

Is it just me, or are the Centipede sounds getting cut off early? The spider sound specifically sounds like it's missing notes.

Is anyone getting audio pops or clicks with the Williams (defender, robotron, joust, etc) cores or with the new Berzerk core?
Though I find the Berzerk core sounds much better then emulation, the pops/ clicks are the most noticeable with this core as I hear them after every voice effect or shot it seems. In the Williams cores I hear the pop/click at the title screen or game over.

I have had a look but not found the cause as yet - Its probably something really simple that just evades me at the moment.

I am not getting that on my machine using HDMI and external speaker.

Upon further testing...
Digital Audio: Either HDMI or Toslink though 3.5 audio jack (w adapter), Popping / clicking in Berzerk & Williams cores.
Analog Audio: No popping / clicks, etc. sounds perfect!

I only tested Berzerk with the 3.5” audio jack on the I/o board.

So can anyone else confirm popping / clicks with either toslink or hdmi audio. with Berzerk, various williams games (not mayday) I can hear it in Mr Do's Nightmare as well. as there is a soundtrack with this game I only hear it on bootup, if you die or a stage change. Since I am on the only having issues? and I don't hear this in other cores, could it be some setting I got wrong?

Thanks for the Frenzy core, it is appreciated.
Plays fine for me though I admit to not being a good Frenzy player.
Sound is fine, I use the mm jack and the HDMI output on low volume.

On Berzerk I have an odd video artifact where it shows a vertical line on the far right of the screen that appears to be a line
from about 1/4 the way in from the right but otherwise it plays fine and don't hear any sound issues.

Asteroids and Black Widow play fine with the noted video artifacts mentioned earlier.

GREAT WORK!

Are the arcade core updates by Alanswx on this thread updateable via the Script file or each .rbf needs to be manually installed on the SD Card?
Anyone know?

It's becoming a bit challanging to keep the MiSTer up-to-date if it's not managed via the Script updater

Thanks
