What you want to tell by link to module currently used in SMS? That last commit was 4 years ago?

Ping the Jotego - may be he would like to make his own version of this chip.

Well I think it still sounds very good, just different. Thank you for implementing what we've got as it is better than the PSG my opinion. Rampage and Outrun sounds pretty close.

Is anyone else having the picture too far to the left over analog or is it just me?

SMS_20180307 is the last version, where the picture is okay on VGA so I still have that one on my MISTer too.

I have this same issue over analog with one of the latest versions (I think the build just before FM sound version.)

Hi,
tested all fm sound games with the latest core. Here all the problems that i found:
-PSG sound is much louder than fm sound.
-Outrun has an awful starting noise until you crash.
-Rescue mission doesn't work (with or without fm sound)
-Super Racing has a terrible engine sound.

This core with FM sound is incredible!

Did you see the same graphical problems I saw with Outrun?

Latest core seems to have fixed every problem I had found!
Only two small problems that I see:
-Castle of Illusion - Starring Mickey Mouse: small green square top-left of the screen when the game is loaded.
-Ys - Vanished Omens - FM Music on the overworld map sounds strange. Easy to tell.

BTW i think FM output was always lower on the original hardware, i had an FM-modded SMS for a while.

@Sorgelig

Very nice work with the GG borders, thank you much for this. One small thing I noticed: the aspect ratio is wrong when border is trimmed on GG, it seems 10:9 is the correct AR for this, same as Gameboy. With 10:9 the ring on the title screen of Sonic Chaos appears round.

I don't have a real gamegear to see if that's correct or not though.

edit:
After looking at this some more, it seems maybe the original system ended up being 4:3. So it more correct with the oval ring than it was before without the borders cut.

Yes, 4:3 gives good looking circles. So, if you like it then use 4:3.
I prefer full screen, so i use 16:9.

MSX is similar, my Panasonics output louder PSG than FM

There's a series called Disc Station on MSX, you can use one of COMPILE's music players to toggle between FM and PSG. Forgot which volume ATM, it's the one with the Rune Master music test tho.

The Game Gear's screen measures 65mm x 50mm, for an aspect ratio of 3.9:3 or 10:13

Edit: Actually, the Game Gear's system resolution is supposedly 160x144, which would be a perfect 4:3

The latest cores fix this problem.
a lot of timings have been tuned, and the Codemasters/224-mode has been implemented.

The core is now very good ,thanks to all involved.
Tested a lot of gamegear games , almost everything works.

Some games with problems in gamegear:
Bram stokers Dracula : problems when you start to play,
Hook : Blackscreen when you start to play
Lion King : Blackscreen when you start to play

In some games in gamegear ,like baku baku , Some sprites seem displaced 1 pixel to the right ,to see this problem start playing, when an ítem reaches the bottom ,moves a pixel to the left
