I forgot to say that I use only old core

Excuse me.

Ah, ok, the SDRAM clock increase was a "recent" change. Changing it back 2x sysclock (~85 MHz) solves the stability problems. Just need to optimize the SDRAM controller to reduce the visual glitches.

The standard menu would also be great, as you can't navigate the current one with a controller.

CRT TV (15kHz) users - do you find this Core is shifted over to the left too much compared to other Cores?

This is good for testing - http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php?title=240p_test_suite

That's good, just controls doesn't work in the test suite :)

Btw, I've mostly finished my cleanup work on the core:
https://github.com/gyurco/FPGAPCE/releases

I didn't fix anything in CPU or VDP, so don't expect a Gensis level compatibility, just ported the Huc6260 from MiSTer, since it gave a good centering for me.
Game compatibility should be the same as before (e.g. Afterburner doesn't work), but it's now stable for me at least, no more freezes.

Thanks Slingshot, I tested some roms and there are ones which first did work with previuos core, for example R-Type.
Or I have to download a different version of some roms.

Anyway good work as first beta release. The street is the right one and I hope to see a SuperGraphix compatibility one day :)

R-Type works for me, both Japanese and US.

So, I have to test other version of roms.
Thanks.

512-byte ROM headers were supported by the original core, now I see your ROM version has it. I didn't found it important, so skipped supporting it. I'll add that.
If a 256k ROM size is 262656 bytes, then it has the header, if 262144, then it hasn't. The later will work now.

Yeah! No more text file for TV / VGA :)
Picture looks only slight off to the left on 15Khz TV, so pretty good. Much better centering than the last Core

Thanks

Useful test ROMS for checking screen modes, sound etc - https://www.chrismcovell.com/creations.html

Good job !

Now most of my selected rom work

I play R-Type (Japan) version which is divided in 2 parts as originally designed for this console.
USA one-part version is bugged.

That one is funny :) It's impossible for the scanlines to slow down anything. Only if your monitor lags more with scanlines enabled.

It starts for me. But I die too fast in this game.

MAJOR THANKS SLINGSHOT!!! I look forward to testing this update!! In theory, is there enough room on the Mist to support SuperGrafx in this core?

FPGA space is enough, the question is the SDRAM bandwidth is adequate for the 128k VRAM and the dual VDP.

Yes, I confirm the screen is a litte out of center, expecially on PAL monitor.

There are some roms which don't work, for example: Batman, Break-In, Cadash, Puzznic, Magical Chase, Ninja Gaiden, Racing Spirits, SF 2, Star Soldier, TV Sports series, World Beach Volleyball.
R-Type USA has wrong colors, Japan one is perfect.
Other like Darius Alpha, Darius Plus the image screen is cut on the edges.
Tatsujin (Truxton on MegaDrive) shows slowdown at start, like in the old core.

But most of games just work well. Thanks Slingshot.

Is it possible to create a SuperGrafix core only ?

Why would it better? The SuperGrafix itself has 128k VRAM and two Huc6270 VDPs (that was the cheap way to double the PC-Engine graphics capabilities without planning a new video chip).

It's much better than old core, only a little slight off to the left . Thanks slingshot.
