+3 Mode in ZX Spectrum Core

Postby vebxenon » Tue Sep 19, 2017 7:24 pm

Hello:

How do you boot in +3 mode in ZX Spectrum core? https://github.com/sorgelig/ZX_Spectrum-128K_MIST

Reading the documentation it seems that +3 mode is available.

I think you just need the latest spectrum.rom "Add Spectrum +3 and Multiface 3 ROMs" from the releases folder.
Then scroll through the Memory choices in the OSD.

I'm not too familiar with the ZX but I think that is all that's needed.

Well, just for your information, a new great release, Sword of Ianna was released last month :) . You can download the game in 4 formats:

- ESXDOS files
- +3 Disk
- TRD Disk
- Cartridge

Well, first three work perfectly in MiST ZX Spectrum core :) . ESXDOS files using last EXDOS supported core https://github.com/sorgelig/ZX_Spectrum-128K_MIST/blob/master/releases/zxspectrum_20160612_esxdos.zip, and disks using last core: https://github.com/sorgelig/ZX_Spectrum-128K_MIST/blob/master/releases/zxspectrum_20170906.rbf

You can download the game here:

This is one of the best ZX Spectrum games I've ever seen :)

thank you, it's a wonderful game but quite tough!

It's probably the best to use the +3 disk version, and load the ianna-sidea.dsk file from the MiST menu, use the "loader" menu, then insert ianna-sideb.dsk file.

I must try the msx version as well.

The MSX2 version is better, but i tested it on a real MSX2 machine + MegaFlashRom SCC 512.
No luck with OCM MiST core.

Yes, that's because it's a 720KB ROM and maximum size in MiST 1chipMSX core is 512. Hope someday, somebody will update the core. For example, now on 1chipMSX even 2MB Megaram is available. http://gnogni.altervista.org/
