Powering the MiST

Postby nightshadowpt » Tue Jul 04, 2017 10:04 pm

Hi,

I was wondering if we can get away with powering the MiST with a USB Power Bank (like the ones used to charge phones when you're abroad).

If it is possible, what kind of requirements for the Power bank should I look for?

Thanks

hmm, why not, but you'll still need to power the screen. You can also power the MiST from the usb plug found on many new TV devices.

I forgot the exact number but power consumption is quite low. I have used my MiST with a 10K mAh powerbank before without issues.

I think Till once mentioned 300mA as the average power consumption. If it needs to power USB devices, obviously more.

Just now tried it (MIST + SilverLine keyboard + 100mA optical mouse) powered with a noname (Platinet) 2000mAh power bank, and worked well (didn't test during long time).

maybe leave it running and check how long it takes (roughly) to drain 1/2 the battery. should give an idea on how much you'd need
