minimig core: can't write config

Postby xc8 » Sun Jun 11, 2017 9:16 pm

Hi,

As the subject says, there is no way to save the configuration on minimig-aga.
There is a message "can't ... "something too effin fast to read.
Do I need to create those config files manually ?

thx

Your SD card damaged or corrupted? should work fine.. I have never had a problem saving the config from the F12 on screen menu.. Try another SD card.

Nothing like this, I already tried other SD, I found on the githud a file called minimig.cfg, and the core can save the default config, looks like a bug, (I had the same issue with the ST core, and I had to copy the cfg manually) what's the suggested format for the minimig-aga , FAT32 or FAT-16?

Never had problems with either core saving configs, so it's not the cores. Anyone know if a lifted pin on MiST's SD reader could prevent writing?

Give this a try. This is probably the best formatter for SD cards, straight from the SD Card Association.
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/

Go with the defaults, then copy over your cores, etc. and see what happens.

Thanks I just ordered a new SD, no issues to write on other cores, eg on ST core I can save the desktop, create a folder etc, so writing the card is fine. Its no big deal anyway now, as the core can (over)write on the existing minimig.cfg and that's strange it can write on an existing file but can't create one.

No it's not strange. It easiest to open a file and write at some position than to create a file.

Are you given the option of configuration needs a reset (or similar) when you change something?
if you are select yes and when the mist has rebooted then try to save config.

It works with both of my 4GB SDs (Transcend and Pretec brands) as well.

Maybe it's important, that these are 'plain' SDs instead of SDHC...

MiST can work with larger. I've got my Atari core and files on a 32GB Lexar SDHC.
