No, Moon Patrol works with no sound.

We must be however grateful to Gehstock for the effort.
He's a great guy, and one of the best developers for this platform

Thank you for these new cores! Your work is really appreciated!

Gehstock, you once had beta cores for Donkey Kong/Crazy Kong. Do you think that you can complete these cores one day or is it beyond the limits of the MiST?

If not, could you try to port the (not so good) Donkey Kong/Crazy Kong bootlegs that run on the Galaxian or Moon Cresta hardware? There even exists a bootleg of Donkey Kong Jr. for the Moon Cresta hardware (dkongjrm.zip). It might be enough just to change the roms that are included in your core. You can get the bootleg roms from the mame romset (bigkong.zip, kong.zip, ckongg.zip or ckongmc.zip).

I´m fully with you. It was just wishful thinking. Moon Patrol and its sound is a part of my childhood.

New Port Azurian Attack

First will Port the following MiSTer Cores
    Catacomb
    Omega
    Pisces

It might be enough just to change the roms that are included in your core.
Checked -> Nope

Thanks anyway. You are the reason why it's still worth owning a MiST. Apart from you, there is no one actively developing/improving cores anymore.

Yes, I think major issue is the lack of the official support in aspect of main core (Atari ST).

MasterOfGizmo's last post is dated to Feb-01-2017, last ST core release Jun-03-2016.

It seems to be abandoned, which is a pity.

But I still think we have no reason to complain: MiST has the most cores among FPGAs, many system exclusive ones (like the Hungarian School Computers or Sinclair QL).

And thanks to Gehstock, we have a growing number of arcade cores, as he ports to our device Sorgelig's excellent work! We appreciate that and are very grateful, thanks for you both guys!

Christmas would be perfect if we had Moon Patrol with working sound

Then we'll do it perfectly

https://github.com/Gehstock/Mist_FPGA/b ... patrol.rbf

VGA Only WIP

After 3 Weeks of cluelessness, I found the error in a reset signal(for the DAC).

Ok, i have to report 2 bug:

- the volume of rock explosions is too high compared to standard audio, or the same is too low in comparison to the normal sound effects/music

- arrived at point N the sound stopped

Ok, i reload the game and reached POINT U without "sound stopped".

If you correct the volume balance of standard fx/music vs sound explosions i think it's perfect.

This is one of my favourite arcade games, one of the best conversion is "Matt Patrol" on Colecovision core which i play very often on MiST :)

Now that´s really a great gift. Fantastic!!! I love Moon Patrol and the sound brings back so many memories.

I´ll spread the news on the German ZX forum. There´s quite a number of MIST users.

It Should fit, i will Check it again in the next Time

I have not longer a JTAG Connection to my MIST(Check it with 2 Computers and 2 USB Blaster(Programmer)), is it a Known Problem? Is there any solution? Core Uploading in Menu will still Work.

Hi!

Tested Gehstock's new/updated arcade cores with the following result:

Flawless over SCART and VGA as well: Galaga, Phoenix, The End.

Flawless over SCART, but looks odd over VGA: Azurian, Black Hole, Galaxian, Moon Cresta, Mr. Do's Nightmare and Orbitron (see attachments).

Moon Patrol lost compatibility with my Samsung LCD TV, will test later using my BenQ.

Cheers: Gábor

Hi!

Tried Gehstock's 'Final Test', seems to be OK over VGA, the bottom of the picture is cropped over SCART ('REDITS' shoult be 'CREDITS', see screenshots).

Merry X-MAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!!!
