Updating the core spreadsheet

Postby Newsdee » Sat Nov 12, 2016 1:20 am

It's about time to update the cores spreadsheet... many new cores and improvements were done this year, thanks to the efforts of many fantastic developers. I'll slowly try to fill in the gaps, but if you'd like to help out please feel free to add to this thread and I'll update.

Thanks for your effort. The following cores also support 15khz (successfully tested by me):
Apogee
BBC
BK0011M
QL
Spectrum
Vector06

However, I couldn't get these two cores (15kHz support according to the list) running on my old TV:
Aquarius
Videopac

Also, the ZX Spectrum has support for the mouse.

Good spreadsheet, thanks! Small correction, it´s ESXDOS on the Spectrum, not EXDOS. By the way, could all Sinclairs and all Commodores be grouped?

Aquarius does not support 15KHz.

ZX81 works in PAL & NTSC, no 15khz.
Atari ST 15khz mode doesn't work in "Mono" mode, the default Atari ST mode. Needs switching into "Color" mode using VGA first.
PCEngine screen constantly rolls in 15Khz.
QL works in PAL VGA and has "OSD core swap"

Didaktik M is completely missing from the list, it supports 15kHz RGB too, as well as Specialist/MX.
Videopac does not support 15kHz RGB.
Chip8 0.1.0. does not support 15kHz, but 0.1.1. does.
How could I download the Frogger arcade core? Didn't find it anywhere, so couldn't tets it so far...

The Frogger core is here.

@mist-devel Github admins: could you please add this core to the main core repository (in the arcade subdirectory)?

And maybe also the PC Engine core, I assume the author won't mind if we could have a copy there.

The Colecovision doesn't have PAL mode (or I am just clamsy to find it).
The PC engine core has only two options in the 'video' menu: the VGA is running fine, but the TV 480i mode is unusable: the picture is scrolling vertically. Also no PAL mode default, perhaps ROM dependent? I see on the core spreadsheet it should have PAL and even 15kHz modes too, how could I test it?
Apple ][+ doesn't have a PAL mode as well.

In France, video game magazines used to make fun of NTSC and the color bleeding. The French standard (SECAM) had some avantages over PAL (but is obsolete by now).
