OK, I see what is wrong. I was pulling "mist-cores" and you have a new repo called apple2efpga. Sorry about that... I've got it now.

Ahh, no parallel universe then.

Meanwhile I found the issue with the LORES colors:

That's great news- thanks for fixing. About the only other things it needs is support for switching to the older ROMs.

Yes, I'll add it, but only for the //e ROMS (unenhanced/enhanced). The ][+ ROM is 12K, it's missing 80 the column firmware, no point to support it (it would be alien for a //e anyway).
Overridable keyboard and video roms are more useful, I think.

Regarding disk and write support, I remembered the CFFA 3000. It doesn't have schematics on the page, but has a logic file for the CPLD it uses. Also the page has some links of similar projecrs (e.g. IDE interface).

http://dreher.net/?s=projects/CFforAppl ... erials.php

Check also the 'logic' section for CPLD files.

May not help directly but could give some ideas.

Checked it, but it's for ATA interface. Is there any SD-Card one out there? (SD-Card emulation is already written for MiST, but no ATA so far).

Upd.: I found this SD-card interface: https://github.com/freitz85/AppleIISd
It's claimed it supports Pro-Dos. Maybe I'll try this. The only drawback the firmware requires the 65C02 CPU.

TBH I'm not sure how useful hard drive support is, versus making disks writeable. I have an original machine but I only ever used floppies and .dsk images (via CFFA 3000) with it. I believe hard drives were mostly used in business software, but I could be wrong.

Return to “MiST”
