My wish list of KF or SCP images disks

Postby Brume » Fri Feb 07, 2014 5:54 pm

Hi all,

Well, I found most of the titles since the last update of this thread. But two are still missing. One gives me headache: Toyota Celica GT. I have both original copies on the game that comes from different sources (one is coming from Germany, the other one is from France). On both copies, previous owners played with the bootsector. I guess they used an antivirus software : so the game doesn't start at all. The protection on track 79 is still there. I tried to replace the bootsector with the one that is stored on Atarimania' STX file. The games starts, everything is OK... but it's totally unplayable. The game starts again and again each time I tried to press a button. This happens with both original copies of the game.

So, is there someone with an original copy of Toyota Celica GT? Any help is welcome ;)

I'm after Kryoflux (RAW) or SuperCard Pro (SCP) dumps.

Thanks a lot in advance. As always, feel free to ask anything you need in return.

So here is my wish list:

- Toyota Celica GT

- Trivial Pursuit - A new beginning

-----------------

- Gunship [one disk version] [found]

- International 3D Tennis [two disks version - single sided] [found]

- Nicky 2 [found]

- Skidz [found]

- IK+ [found]

- Cosmic Pirate [found]

- Lemmings [found]

I'll have a look through my large "To Do" pile for you Brume. I know they're not in the Klaz pile so hopefully they're in my assorted unboxed originals.
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Thank you very much Mug UK
Fingers crossed, hope you'll find one or two titles in your pile.

I have SCP images of Cosmic Pirate but couldn't find my original of 3D Tennis anywhere.
Also found IK+ but its from the Lightforce compilation, and I guess thats not what you´re really looking for!

Wow, great! If you can provide Cosmic Pirate in SCP format, you'll make me very happy! :D
I'm also interested in IK+ from the Lightforce compilation, I'll try to collect each version (I wonder if this game was released in various editions...).
Let me know if you need some space on my FTP to upload the files.
Thanks greatguy!

You will find both Cosmic Pirate and the Light Force compilation here. :D
Please let me know if there are any other disks you're looking for as I am imaging all of my originals. (250+)

...and I did finally find my International 3D Tennis original, but its a dead cause. The media is really bad!! :(

Thank you Greatguy

Both games work fine and with your help, I managed to repair my damaged disks.
I may have more requests very soon, thanks for your offer. Also let me know if you need disks since I'm imaging my originals, too.

Thanks for your reply Niklas :D
But I've already the 'two disks version' of Gunship. I've imaged it, all works very well.

I've only one bad track the 'one disk version' of this game.
I've cleaned up the surface of the disk many times, there is no sign of mold.
I'll try to repair the damaged track manually.

Btw, any chance you have F-29 Retaliator?
This game is a weird to image: I have two copies of it, but I really don't know if they work fine since they don't work on my STE and they refuse to launch with emulators.

I have imaged my copy of F-29 Retaliator, but I have unexplained crc errors and fuzzy bits on disk 2. Seems like disk 1 is ok though.

Very cool!
Can you post disk 1?
My disk 2 seems to be OK (no error + no protection on it). I'll post disk it if you want it.

F-29 Retaliator is uploaded to my dropbox, and I'd be happy if you could share your working disk 2 of the game.

Thanks a lot Niklas, you're disk 1 seems to work fine. This is perfect :)

You can download disk 2 here:
http://dl.free.fr/jWeKWYq1A

Since the disk 2 is not protected, I've imaged it with 2 revolutions only. So the archive is smaller.
Thanks again for all, game is complete.

Added Lemmings to my wish list...
Even if my disk looks in perfect condition (I've cleaned up it carefully), it refuses to boot on the STE.
And none of the archives made by KF or SCP works. So my disk is definitely damaged.

Two things worth mentioning about Lemmings:
1, At least two versions exist
2, One is now working in the latest development build of Hatari, but the other one does not (to be more precise only works under very specific conditions, unlike the original)

I have uploaded my copies of Lemmings to my SCP folder on Dropbox, feel free to grab them from there. :D Aufit made stx made from both SCP-images works on Steem.

Interesting answer IFW, thanks for the info.
Do you know what's the difference between both versions? More features? Fixes? Do they have the same package?

Once again, you're the man: thank you very much :D
I'm downloading it atm.

edit: I've written back the disk posted by greatguy with SCP: it works like a charm (dunno what happens the first time I tried, the second size was faulty but all is OK now).

I still don't know why my original disk was faulty. With Aufit, both disks look exactly the same...

Have you considered a virus infected disk?
I have a few originals which are infected with various boot-sector viruses. These should be easily fixed by copying the boot-sector from a fully working pasti image. :)

No idea... running replacements happened for some of the more successful games, and information is hardly ever available about the changes.
Please don't discard or overwrite the disk; a KF dump would be more than welcome to see if it matches the other disk which I suspect is the same as yours.

Thanks for the suggestion greatguy. But the disk still doesn't work on my STE. Here's what I've done:

- have copied my defect disk of Lemmings on a blank disk with SCP
- have copied greatguy's working version on another disk (still with SCP)
- have finally copied the first track (both sides) from working copy to defect copy (using SCP)
- have tested the disk on my 4MB STE : this time, the game boots properly, but it crashes at the second picture (when the animated intro should start).

The guy who sold me Lemmings also sold me his STE, so I'll test it on this machine tonight. It has 1 Mb only, so maybe this version of Lemmings doesn't work with 4MB. That could explain why Psygnosis both versions of the game, I don't know...

IFW: no problem, I won't overwrite the original disk. I'll post the KF dump asap.

Added two titles to my whishlist:

- NIcky 2 (aka Nicky Boom 2)
I have both copies of that games. Both disks are damaged. I tried to repair them w/o success.

- Skidz
Someone played with the bootsector on the version I acquire :(
