cosmos ex - usb floppy externals

it would be great to be able to mount a usb external floppy on this :) anyone know if this is possibility ?

not sure on the floppy interface, but maybe it can attach as drive b ?

This could be possibly done, but:
- we would have to find out if there is support for the USB floppies in the linux distro on Raspberry
- then we would have to find out, if it would be enough for users to have it as TOS drive (translated = easy) or would have to be native - data stream like when accessing the floppy interface of CE (hard)

I'm afraid USB Disk drives won't read most Atari floppies but only standard "MSDOS" ones (720ko/1.44Mo)
So better use a real floppy drive to make images

oh okay, i thought they would be able to read if drivers avail :( it would still be usefull for reading standard 1.44 if your urgently needing to read an old disk.

some are not even able to read 720k MSDOS floppies :

Traslated drive for standard dos disks would be fine. Real WD1772 emulation would be too difficult ans these USB drives are quite thumb.
