Update issue - 01234567 - not found

Postby Cyprian » Sun Jul 27, 2014 8:10 pm

During update process the driver showed me message that it lost connection with CosmosEx.
Now ce_conf.prg shows me message "Looking for CosmosEx: 01234567 - not found". I also reimaged Raspberry SD card but without success.
Jookie, is there any way to fix that?

Hello Cyprian,

it seems that for some unknown reason unZIPing the last application package results in the zero size of the unZIPed application, but not every time - the update might work on 2nd time, so now I've unziped and ziped the app again, so the next update should work (hopefully). Try the recovery procedure described here, it includes the SD card rewriting as you already did:
viewtopic.php?f=103&t=26753#p255842

...and report how it went.

edit: it's not only about unZIPing, it's also about not flushing the linux kernel cache and thus not writing the files to the SD card (even when they seem to be there before power down).

ok,
I did that step and then second step and finally CosmosEx came back to life.

In the next step I've pressed update button and again message that connection with CosmosEX was shown.
This time I've waited a bit longer than yesterday and that was good choice because it's returned to Update menu :)

finally I think that information about lost connection was misleading, and if I had waited a bit longer yesterday then my cosmosex would be updated properly.

You're right, the same message is displayed when you turn off / disconnect CosmosEx and when you do the update (as the internal software and / or firmware is replaced and thus doesn't communicate with ST software). I will add some extra logic to handling of this situation, thanks for the hint.
