I can connect to the root directory and it shows an SCP folder but I cannot open the folder. Doesn't look well. :(

Dang it would be nice to have a stable ftp site for SCP images.

It is usually very reliable. This is the first time I have seen any issues with it.

I believe Jim Drew organised it to be set up. I don't think he hosts it or owns it though.

Yes - and what we can learn from this case: I'm sure it was told already here and elsewhere: give more than only title of SW - publisher, year of release is minimum. May help: count of floppies, version number of SW (if can see it). Then: where is released, or for what region , country - there are differences between EU and US releases (refresh rate, regional restrictions). There was some SW which worked only with German TOS, for instance.
I'm here to discuss. To say what I think, share my experiences. That means not that I will not complain when someone claims that Moon is square. Will complain when someone jumps in without reading carefully what is written. Ah, and don't ask from me something you can self do easily - like search :D

All my dumps come from boxed versions so I can add the publisher and year when the ftp site comes up and before I upload them.

I asked a couple time what things like (x) (o) (d) mean in the file name but didn't get any response. I don't know the "codenames"

Looks like someone actually hacked the ftp site and deleted files and changed permissions of the folders. I was told that it might be back up later today. There apparently was a server backup.

I would guess that a few dorks in the C64 community don't like my stance on copyrights, and so they have decided to hack the ftp site (as some type of punishment, thinking that I somehow own it, LOL). So, the owner has pulled it down until he can either come up with a way to protect it, or just make it private. There is a backup of the data, so nothing should be lost.

Disk B dump of Bionic Commando is badly damaged and you should try cleaning it:

Disk A dump also is bad:

Thanks!

Alien Syndrome works fine in STEEM with STF 1Mb TOS1.02. It uses F1-F10 to start the game and change settings.

Too bad :( But if the server was hacked once, and no measures were taken, it surely would happen again. Probably the server has some known vulnerability, and just updating (or changing) the software might be enough.

It might be possible to establish a different repository. A couple of people here offered to host RAW images.

Yeah, sure, it was "hacked".

More likely someone informed the abuse department of your hoster mentioning the words software & piracy and they then pulled the plug.

As it was threatened in http://www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=753131

Also, there JimDrew wrote "The server is being changed to individual directories for each user. As soon as its up again I can put that info on my website." Nothing about being "hacked". Well I guess this was someone else named JimDrew then.

Oh, no. Please don't bring your internal C64 fights here.
