In my eyes its got to be Oh wot a scorcher for the simple reason being TLB... They was good... And if i remember.. Forgive me if i'm wrong... But was they the first to do a demo of a sample tune, for life of me i can't remember what it was(help)... And also it was my first Demo that i ever bought...

If memory serves, I used to visit TLB in Kingston, Surrey and we'd look and listen to all these sample demos well before they started making their own.

Ones by TNT Crew were some of the first that I remember - and some by another lot of German guys which just had plain text in medium rez and were just demos of their sampler cartridge / playback routines.

Those Germans were from Luxemburg and were called Unlimited Matricks.
Get all ULM stuff (and some other demos) from here:

Wow! I remember some of them from the good old days swapping demos etc. with The Lost Boys when they were still in school :)

And that TNT-Crew demo with it's fake TOS v1.0 routine - brings back tears to the eyes :)

Not much to think about, Union Demo is the mother of all mega-demos on the ST.

Ooh Crikey, Wot A Scorcher. However, these demos are all fantastic in their own unique way.

has to be the cuddly demo, no other demo had such an impact on people outside of the coding or demo circles. The union demo came close, but mention the carebears cuddly demo to coders on other machines and they will know what you are talking about.

DSOTS was brillaint, Fullscreens all over the place, lots of Mod music/Samples. Nice reset demo and a good dose of sense of humour in the 1MB+ version of the menu music, and it worked on STE.

I think Robomix(Count zero), The Starwars Demo(Fungus The Bogeyman from Gremlin), Sowatt & Acid Burn by AN Cool were the first demos I saw after a friend brought them over one day. I then collected a few as they were more entertaining than most of the games coming out at that time with a few exceptions.

I also loved,Fish 'n' Chips,Ripped off(PETE),Punish your machine, Ooh crikey what a scorcher, The Stupendous demo(I was even sad enough to do a map on graph paer for this) And the Omega Grotesque Demo (?).

Best module compilation/player was 'Songs of the unexpected' & best Slideshow I seen was the Tobias Richter Photochrome one due to extra colours & border removal...

For me it’s The B.I.G. demo. It is from a graphical and design standpoint less impressive than the others on the list. However I really enjoyed the tunes back then over the stereo (via my scartcable)

Cuddly Demo, mainly for the reason that it really kicked up the quality bar especially when I was starting to objectively compare and contrast with some of the Amiga demos out there. 8)

Surprised the Decade Demo by The Inner Circle isn't an option
