42 year old 68000 assembly freak here. I implemented an unreleased project called 'Libix' which is a pure 68k assembly language shell+GUI menu system that I wrote for the ST as a Minix environment clone for my degree dissertation in 1991, plus a number of unreleased demo routines doing the normal scroller/disty things. I drooled over Cuddly, I gawked at B.I.G. and I felt for TCB when I saw the Union, (even though retrospectively it's obvious that TCB were untouchable because they were the first to take it all to the level that TEX pointed towards). I've been lurking this forum for the last 5+ years ... but, for whatever reason I feel obliged to say:
To all of you awkward teenagers, crazy drunkards, long haired hippies, gawky youngsters and eager geeks who were my age at the time, and who strode out there, made and distributed the code that made me realise that anything was possible.
I've made a career out of the inspirations that were boosted so much by the ST after being sparked off by the Speccy.
Again, thank you. You rock
