Download Adress for Demos?

Postby 1st1 » Mon May 28, 2012 7:17 am

Hello, is there a complete collection of ST demos available somewhere for download? I have a lot demos, but only since about 1992, after that I have allmost stopped collecting them. But all are still there as MSA or ST files. I have interest of swapping/sharing. The biggest site I found is the pacidemo-page, but it seems to be incomplete - I have more than this page.

Well, you need to look for the "No Fragments" CDs. Volume 1 contains ST Demos, Volume 2 various Compilation disks, Volume 4 is Falcon Stuff, etc.

Is there a way to download them all without to much clicking? I mean something by FTP or DownThemAll or what ever?

Same here, a way to download them all without clicking on each individually?

Strange. I'm unable to open that .iso [edit: only tried Volume 1] with my Mac. "not recognized".

Troed: Pretty strange... you are the first one who report problems with the .ISO-file... do have have access to a windows machine? I know it shouldn't make a difference but who knows...

Yeah I don't know. Tried with Daemon in a virtualized Windows yesterday but it couldn't open it either. Re-downloaded just now but it's still the same.

(Both downloads done with Chrome, can't imagine it matter though)

Could you verify a fresh download works for you?

I haven't got a Fancy Dan Mac, but I just downloaded it and it opens fine in Windows (Daemon Tools Lite) and Linux (Archive Manager).

Thanks for this incredible collection, Lotek. This is on the 'explore fully once I've retired' pile. :D

Just downloaded it... I'm using Virtual CloneDrive on Windows and it works perfectly. Sorry to say but the Mac seems to be the problem.

Yesterday finally I was able to download all these ISOs sucessfully. The trick is not to stress the webserver with too much requests at the same time. So download only one iso per time. After it was finished I was able to unpack all ISO with Winrar sucessfully.

Now solved, although I have no idea why it's an issue or why I couldn't get it to work in a virtualized Windows as well. Posting to help others who might run into the same problem in the future:

Open up Terminal, cd to the folder in which you downloaded the iso and paste the command below. It will successfully mount the iso in Finder:

Code: Select all

hdiutil attach -imagekey diskimage-class=CRawDiskImage nf_archive_01_refix.iso

(I will now go ahead and re-make the batch script I made for ST Pirate Gold -> HxC Floppy Emu images to support this disc structure as well)

edit: Done - see viewtopic.php?f=3&t=23466
